Go Canada Visas wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard, voice control, screen magnifier or other assistive technology.
What we have done
- Each page has one main heading and a logical heading order, so it can be navigated by headings.
- The page content is marked as the main region, and a “Skip to content” link is available from the keyboard.
- Images that carry meaning or act as links have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- All links, buttons, menus and form fields can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Carousels and banners do not move on their own.
- Text and background colours have been chosen for readable contrast, and pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
- Form fields have visible labels, and required fields are marked.
Known limitations
- The free assessment questionnaires and the consultation booking step are provided by third-party services (Officio and our booking/payment system). We do not control their accessibility.
- Some older content may not yet meet every guideline. We review the site regularly and fix issues as we find them.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
