As of June 30, 2011, the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) is the official regulator of immigration consultants under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
The Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) is not the official regulator anymore.
Immigration consultants who were in good standing with CSIC on June 30, 2011 are automatically considered members of the ICCRC. They must register with the ICCRC by October 28, 2011 to maintain this status.
If you are working with an immigration consultant, you may want to contact them to make sure they are registered with the ICCRC. You can also check if your consultant is on the list of ICCRC members.
You can contact the ICCRC for more information at www.iccrc-crcic.ca, call 1-877-836-7543 or send an e-mail to info@iccrc-crcic.ca.
